The Online Store Plan
I have been planning to set up my own online store for the 123456789th time! Yes, this is part of my The Hunt for My Six-Figures Dream on the internet. I decided to try and sell hand-crafted, locally-made and exquisite Pinoy Products.
Since I am clueless in setting up an online store,  I have to rely on somebody who has been successful in doing it. *Toingggggg!! I got the clue from www.rainbowreels.com! So, through the artful process of coercion, intimidation and harassment, he agreed voluntarily to help me with open arms and set-up my online store. In turn, I shower him with yadi-yadi-yada and simply tell him he’s gorgeous, wonderful. I would have to repeat it over and over and over and over and ovah to the 1,000th power!Â
Take a real good picture!
When selling online products, you better take a damn good picture of your product, otherwise, you won’t be able to convert. It’s in the picture. It’s in the perfect description. The artful and creative descriptions you write about your product coupled with excellent pictures, should be able to do the formula of conversion into some mighty US dollars. Right, Chuva?
So that was my next job. To take pictures. I called Joey. I went to his place and asked for his help. Obligingly, he helped me took pictures of the product. Ahhh! You have no idea!
We were using Canon PowerShot S500 Digital ELPH 5.0. I have no clue whatsoever on how to use this camera that I had for bizillian years now. All I know is power it on and click! Poor Joey! I stressed him out! He was screaming! He was yelling! He was calling the cops, because I just didn’t know how to turn off the damn flash! No clue! Clueless! Ah-ah! No idea! Nada! Ziip! Ziiit! That was never part of my MBA curriculum! Sorry!
As it would turn out, the product looked like trash! We have no model. We have to use a Teddy Bear to put the necklace on. I tried to be the model. Oh, it was not funny at all! It was bloody ugly! Knowing Joey? AH! He was just about ready to push me out of his 27th floor condominium! Taking a cue from America’s Top Next Model - Here’s your best shot!
Oh, before I forget… Joey is a chef. A super-chef. No, not chef of folizze. A real one. He does cook real good Italian food though!
AND THEN…
From Joey’s place, I drove over to my niece’s new $300k house near Joey’s area in Drexel Hill. They (Joy, Ann and my niece)  were painting the bedroom. This is where I met Ann Yema-Bunders. She is a nursing student (Yeeehaaa!!!). Very sweet, very nice and funny too! She’s a good friend of my niece. I found out that she’s an avid photographer! I want you all to meet her:
I showed them the pictures that me and Joey took just a few hours ago and they literally fainted! I showed them the teddy bear! Their laughter almost caused an earthquake in the brand new house! Can you imagine?! It’s obvious! I need some serious support group!
She offered to help. Oh my gosh! He He He! Am I lucky or what?! She took home a sample. She must have cranked up her camera like crazy because by the time I arrived home that night, I have the pictures. It’s unbelievable!
She literally made my product worth millions! I mean, if I could sell these for a million, why not?! Look!
Ross would agree with me. Pictures are really worth a thousand words. I don’t even have to describe them. Ann put all the descriptions in the photograph itself. Would you agree?Â
Putting up an online store is similar to putting up a blog. Some people write blogs, submit it to all the URL crawlers and then expect the world to come. Not quite. I am mindful of the fact that when that time that I am ready to put my online store, I know that I should be mindful of the following:

Niche market

Exchange rate (because my products are coming from the Philippines)

Navigable online store
-
Excellent product write-up and descriptions
-
Product pricing
-
Selling strategies
-
Online traffic
-
Marketing
-
Advertising and more importantly
-
PICTURES.
Unless you are a skilled-photographer yourself, this is where we need all the Ann Yema-Bunders of the world. This is her craft, this is what she’s good at, this is where she excels. I don’t have a choice but go into business process outsourcing and ask her to be my official product photographer that she gladly accepted.
At the moment, I’m still trying to resolve some product supply issues. However, if you are willing or interested to be one of my suppliers or you know somebody who can ship this kind of Pinoy products to Philadelphia, send me an email. We’ll work something out.

ei Marj, don’t worry, if the Philippine Consulate in New York will not or cannot help me, I’ll find a way or hopefully, someone out there reading this blog would be able to help me.

I and my friend are OFW’s here in Hongkong and we are both planning to put up some business back home.My idea is an online store that caters to the rich and famous in the Philippines.My pamangkin na bading has been doing it for almost 3 years now and has become very successful.
Although I was the one who taught him where to get his supplies here in Hongkong nung time na mag i start sya ang hitad he tuned out to be my biggest relathieve kasi sinolo na nya instead na kasosyo ako.He now owns a pajero and on the way to owning a condo!
I would like to be in the same business because it is very viable:no competition,huge market,sure turn over(he now comes to HK every month to get his supplies)but my only problem is how can I start kasi you will only succeed in this kind of business if you have contacts from the community of the Phils.’s rich and famous!my pamangking bading has had such contacts from his days as a student in La Salle while my contacts are mostly fellow OFW’s!
Please Reyna help me solve this problem!Maybe one of you out there can help me please please!!!I am merely doing this to prise some of my loved ones out of poverty and if I can earn a bit more exta that would be an added bonus but not my priority.

salamat, reyna elena. salamat bea. salamat jc. nabasa ko na rin ang mga blog ninyo. please keep on writing. it gives me a view of kagandahan na may substance. kasi dito sa korea, ang hirap maghanap ng babasahin. mahal at karamihan in korean. wala namang masyadong relevance sa buhay ng pinoy ang blogs at websites ng international affairs. i went to the blog award site. i’m gonna vote this in sana, pero may naisip ako. para hindi kakalat ang votes, can we choose one category? kasi pag kumalat ang boto, sayang di ba? i would suggest yung best ofw blog. i came across one ofw link na na-publish na into a book. and then i came across this blog, and i thought, why not this one too? i’m online 24/7 in a country that has the fastest internet connection in the world, which meant i went through a mountain of trash before i stumbled into this preciousness. anyway, mag-isa lang ako but i have my tiny network of friends and they are already aware of this site. ay, wait, haba na nitong sulat ko…mukha nang blog tuloy. niweys, thank you. i’ll click the sponsors too, you can be sure of that…

Haay salamat mahal na Reyna at sumagot ka uuwi na sana ko eh dito ko sa Mcdo.Opo naman inonomineyt ko po kayo kaso d ko lam pano mejo di pa ko expert pero pinipilit ko maging dahil nga sa ambisyones ko na mapaunlad ko din mga love ko sa ating lupang hinirang.Kung ako lang kase,ok na ko kaso tuwing naaawa ako at nagreremit lalong tumatagal yung timetable ko sa amount na target kong i save para sa aking old age so isip isip ko why not do something na pwedeng dun ko kukunin para sa mga poor kong mga kafatid?
ang business na pinaplan ko is: (TANGAL NI REYNANG MANANANGAL) na ang customers ay mga rich and famous and because this group of consumers have the cash to spare and the “itch” to be on top of the (TANGAL NI REYNANG MANANANGAL) and because I have already researched the competition and the growing market this is a win win situation.
We can provide the gap in the market and they can provide us our dream cash.The only problem that I can foresee at the moment is how to get our merchandise into the arms of those rich and famous plus how to gain their trust because obviously this kind of merchandise involves (TANGAL NI REYNANG MANANANGAL).
The only way to do this is if we can come up with the right strategy to get at least one or two customers at first and once the proverbial word of mouth spreqads around ther will be no looking back.Sorry po mahal na reyna bigla akong naging serious pero maloloka yata ako pag di natupad ambisyones kong to.Walang problema sa aspect na merchandise procurement remember I was the one na ga intoduce ng sources sa hitad na bading na yun?I can guarantee na 100%authentic mga mabibili kong (TANGAL NI REYNANG MANANANGAL) because Hongkong has several (TANGAL NI REYNANG MANANANGAL)where the rich and famous here (TANGAL NI REYNANG MANANANGAL)everytime a (TANGAL NI REYNANG MANANANGAL).

Mahal na reyna,wis ako kamalay malay may mga nabulabog pala ang inyong lingkod.Wag po kayo mag alala magkakaroon na ko ng laptop di ko lng madecide what features shld a computer have inorder for it to be of maximum use for an online business.So at the moment I rely on internet cafes.
Can any of our dear experienced kabayans pls.share their expertise on this?I have a digital cam already and I can easily buy a scanner but I wld aooreciate pointers about what kind of computer to buy.On the issue of my business proposal I wld still appreciate that we retain the oprivacy of some of those I told you about if you dont mind.
In the meantime,I really am going for it.I have bought books on topics about ebay and I am ti start a short business course this March 11th.Kelangan ko lang talaga eh yung mga customers na can afford at possibly di manloloko kasi there are occasional cases where you send them the authentic merchandise and then complain later on na fake yung tinda mo when in fact eh they switched it with a fake one,but on this note di nila ko malulusutan.
One solution here is to have the customer go with you to the Brand’s boutique and have it authenticated by the boutique manager in the presence of both you the seller and the buyer.Sana nga mahal na reyna matulungan mo ko,1st to pls recommend me to any R & F prospective customer that you know because even if I am an expert on the buying side all that go to waste if there are no sure buyers.
And of course if you or anyone out there is interested in a partnership mas ok kasi I’m not an expert sa hardselling.Alam mo naman mga R&F sa Pinas they are a unique combination of snobs,hard to get hard to please but needing of tons of attention!You will have to ask me questions mahal na reyna if you think I am missing something.I have a Lunch to attend to so my next posting would either be tomorrow or tonight.
To clear the air sa mga naguguluhan,ang business proposal ko po kasi eh wala pang malakas na competition and I think depending on the Queen’s assessment I maybe right to keep it a secret at the moment.But dont worry soon you”ll get to know what it is.I need to go for now but I shall return!!!!!!!!

Sorry po eh kasi naman po ang trabaho ko napakaselan ng katungkulan ng bossing ko.Di ako pwede gumamit ng tinitipahan nila at baka pati ako eh tinitiktikan ng mga engkanto.Sige po mahal na reyna dodoblehin ko corona mo pag nasagip mo ko sa problema kong ito.Kung gusto mo ng tikoy say mo lang or watever basta afford ko wag lang yung mapapalupasay ako….

Kidding aside,naghahanap pa rin ako ng pwedeng business partner kung merong willing na magtry.Pwede ko makipagpirmahan ng mga papeles,etc,etc.Di ako pwede magsalita ng banyaga this moment pero bukas ng gabi lalabas na lang ako.For now many many hapi retarns!

sa totoo lang contented naman na sana ako kahit ano lang dyan meron ako kaso nga di naman pwedeng ipikit ang mata sa mga sisiw at inahin na nasa pinas…ayaw ko rin naman habang buhay na ganun sila..umaasa lang sa bigay eh di naman ako tunay na santa claus…
hanggang sa naturuan ko nga yung nepwew ko na yun, kala ko magiging tapat sya sa usapan pero pinaiyak lang nya ko….hanggang sa malaman laman ko yung online store na yung naitayo nya inilihim nya sa ken pero patuloy pa rin akong tigabili nya…at by accident may friend sya na nagtour at sinamahan ko sa shopping nila …ayun nabanggit na big time nga daw mga clients bakit di ako kasosyo e ako din naman pala tigabili….
Nung kinausap ko deny-deny sya kesyo hulugan daw e kitang-kita naman sa mga feedbacks nya so from that time on hanggang ngayon takot sya makipagkita sa ken maski andito pa rin sa ken ATM nya na dinedeposituhan nya pag may pabili sya…

Santa Rosa, ikaw nga yata ang double twin ko. I was in the same position. Nag-buy nang condo ang lola mo, pinatira ang kafatid, bayad lahat pati expenses nang pagiging madrina nya sa kasal at kung ano anong kasosyalan, taz walang ginawa awayin ako. Result? Pinalayas ko. Ay naku, di ko kelangan nang MBA para makapagdecide nang ganun.
Mag-ipon ka Santa. Di mo ba alam, at the end of the day, walang ibang tutulong sayo kundi IKAW?! Alam mo ba yon? Kundi mo pa alam yon, bukas na bukas din, magbukas ka nang bank account at mag-ipon ka’t tigilan ang padala. Padala mo sa sarili mo.
O ano pang problema dyang natitira’t yariin na natin para magkapag-usap na tayo nang matino!

unang gawin mo, mag iba ka ng phone number at email addy…wag mo ibibigay sa kahit kaninong relathieves sa Pinas. Piktapos, lahat ng snail mail nila, wag mo bubuksan, RTS agad para kunyari iba na address mo. Silent treatment mo lahat sila…at least two years. By that time, malaki na naipon mo at humupa na galit mo at malinaw na isip mo…wede ka na mag negosyo…as in ready ka na talaga. Good luck!

Bea di na ako gaanong aburido ngayon, kasi nga nakaraos na yung dalwa…Itinago ko na sa baul ang mga shotgun ko pati uzi at armalite… BB gun na lang nakalabas pantira ko sa pusa ng kapitbahay na palaging palakad lakad sa backyard fence ko….
Mabait na ako ngayon, mga diwata, maiksi na nga lang ang state of the bulsa address aka verbal abuse ko eh…kung noon eh blah blah blah ako hanggang maubos ang ten dollar phone card, ngayon payb dollar phone card na lang, hehehehe. hehehe mahal na reyna, ako rin po nasa-shock lagi kapag PC ang hawak ko. di ko yun alam gamitin. madalas naliligaw ako. nagbabali-balikwa yung mga commands. di ba magkaiba yung commands sa mac at PC?simula’t simula kasi na nag-work me, mac na desktop ang hawak ko. pag nagnanakaw ng linya, mac book po ang gamit ko para madaling tumakbo kapag na-raid ako hehehe. i remember one time i had a diskette tapos i went to a computer shop, inserted the diskette into the hard drive tapos hanap ako ng hanap sa desktop kung nasaan ang icon ng diskette kasi nasanay nga ako sa mac na makikita mo agad sa desktop ang mga isasalaksak mong diskette o CD. after 30 minutes, sumuko na ako sa paghahanap. so di na ako nakatiis at ipinangalandakan ko na ang aking pagiging ignoramus sa PC. nilapitan ko ang isang attendant tapos sabi ko, “patulong naman po di ko alam kung saan napunta ang diskette ko. ” tapos, the little boy beside me who was playing online game was looking at me na para bang gusto niyang sabihin sa akin, “miss, saang barrio ka po galing?” embarrassing talaga.

pareho lang yun…most of the buttons na nasa kaliwa ng monitor pag mac gamit mo eh nasa kanan pag PC, hehehehe. mas love ko ang PC, mas makulay ang mundo nya kesa mac… pero magastos ang PC eh…kung anik anik na firewall, anti spyware, anti virus ang kailangan mo install…very prone sa phishing…

pinirata ni Bill Bakod ang programmer ng mac kaya kung ano itsura ng mac, binaligtad lang sa PC…ang nasa taas, ibinaba (Start); ang nasa kanan, nilagay sa kaliwa. Nag iBook ako noon bago ko binenta…ang bagal na eh…ang mahal ng spare parts! pero wala akong problema sa virus dun! Limited din pati mga games…pero hataw naman ang Nanosaur at Bugdom! Kinailangan ng lumipat ng PC para makayanan ang mataas na specs…
