Nabaliw me reading your comments. He He He Natapon ko tuloy lahat nang prozac na iniinom ko! Kaya, I thought bigyan ko to nang isang espasyo sa blog na to’t babalikan ko and see kung ano pang mga kathang isip advices ang makuha ko. But I like what you said, tipong realiy show.

Here’s what Bang says in bicol:

Lost in translation: “Ok Reyna. Come and teach here although I doubt if you will get the same salary as what you are getting there. I’m sure you know how much they earn here. You cannot afford to have three husbands.”
Here’s what Minh says:
College teaching baga su first job ko Bang pero dai man ako pig require ki background sa teaching or maski units man lang. Dai man kaya kaipuhan. Take note, vaklah, ang salary ng guro may bracket at may ceiling. Generally, di lang degree ang tinitingnan - pati performance at number of years of experience. May corresponding increase sa rate ng byuti mo sa bawat years of experience pati na rin sa bawat grad at post grad degree or credit hours. Kaya kahit na ang PhD at EDD natin eh with matching ADHD, ADD at LD pa, wa pa rin matching moolah yah kung naibigay na sa iyo ang iyong karampatang datung.
Ang pagtuturo eh isang misyon - kailangan mahilig kang makipag away, mag torture, manggulang at mang inis ng mga students! Yan ang favorite past time naming tumatagal sa service. Kailangan ang favorite possession mo ay golpen at lafiz…very useful panakot sa mga nerds (I’M GONNA TAKE FIVE POINTS OFF YOUR PERFECT SCORE IF YOU WON’T STOP TALKING!), at panindak sa mga siga siga (YOU ARE INTERFERING WITH OUR LEARNING, SAFETY, AND WELL-BEING - YOU WANT ME TO WRITE YOU A REFERRAL?), at higit sa lahat pang motivate sa mga kamag anak ni Pong Pagong sa bagal at at relatives ni Juan tamad sa kasipagan (C’MON YOU CAN DO IT, I’M GOING TO RAISE YOUR GRADE ONE LETTER HIGHER…- WALANJO DI MO ALAM KUNG GAANO KAHIRAP MANG UTO NG MGA TIMANG NA TAMAD PA - NAKAKASUKA! ) Tapos liit pa ng sahod, as in hindi man lang proportional sa workload, grrrrrr.
So Ateng, kung ang reason mo why ka mag go into teaching is to AUGMENT your income MAGISING KA NAAAAAA!!!

well, i have to agree with the first comment. i work with a lot of teachers. marami akong friends na teachers, pati nga teacher ko nung grade 1 pa ako 23 years ago (teka, that reveals my age ah hehehe) ay friend ko pa rin. at iisa lang ang reklamo nila: mababang pasahod. pati mga propesor na kaibigan ko, they have the same sentiment. some professors i know of, maliit lang ang salary. but they have maraming rakets out of their affiliation with the school they are working with. they become consultants, speakers o kaya ay book writers. dun sila kumikita nang malaki-laki: sa honorariums, professional fees at sa royalties.

Walang problema kung mababa pasahod Day basta proportional sa demands ng job. Pero SUSMARYOSEPP, 7am to 5pm kang tatayo sa harap ng more than pipty studyents. kahit sa mga colleges ganito scenario pag walang nakuhang instructor (or sinadyang di kumuha)…fusion of 2 or more classes sa auditorium! Bukod sa guro kang kailangan may lesson plan everyday, mega check ka pa ng tests (di uso scantron sa Pinas), at take note, kanya kanyang linis ng classroom doon (loob at labas), walang janitor kang iirapan at pariringan ng GOSH THE FLOOR IS SOOO FILTHY, WHEN DID YOU LAST MOP IT? Sugapa na nga mga guro doon katutungga ng red bull kasi di na malaman kung saan huhugot ng energy noh! 7 to 5 ang job mo as teacher, kung may balak ka pang tumanggap ng part time - you’re gonna end up crawling into a hospital bed by the end of the month or sooner! I was co-author of a Chemistry textbook with worksheets (bragging and modesty aside)pero one time lang ang royalty..kasi di makontrol ang copying businesses eh…buong libro lantarang siniseroks saka binebenta ng mga hinayupak na taga recto at paligid ng UST, wa kiver government. Maging speaker or trainer ka naman…minsan may i gibsung sila ng anda minsan naman plaque of africiyashun (makakain mo ba yun?)
Karamihan sa mga guro sa pinas, nagbebenta ng kung anu-ano sa school - tosino, longganisa, damit, underwear, pampa byuti, herbal medicine anik anik, etc… sad but true. Para ma AUGMENT ang aming income - we go into business…KAW ITONG MAY DEGREE SA BUSINESS, BALAK MONG MAGTURO??? NAHIHIBANG KA NA NGA YATA!BALIK KA SA DOKTOR MO, BALIK!!@#$%^&^%$#$

naging dalawa na po ang meaning ng “por-gibs” sa larangan ng pagbili at pag-utang hehehehe. ang una, synonymous siya sa “drop-drop” o “patak-patak” na pagbayad (ng apat na beses). ang ikalawa, “por-gib”, pa-Bisayang pagsasabi ng “forgive” kasi di na makabayad sa inutang hehehe. haaaay, hirap ng buheeey…..
salamat pala sa pagdalaw sa aking abang tahanan, mahal na reyna. kaya lamang hindi ko pa magawang mag-log in para ma-aprubahan ang iyong mga komento sapagkat nagloloko yata ang site at hindi ako makapag-log in. mag-i-email na lang ako tungkol sa ipinadala mong datos tungkol sa friendster.

Tama kayong lahat! naku! pag nagturo ka sa pinas, talagang lahat ng loan, magagamit mo, pati nga burial kung pwede pa lang ma-advance na. Ako gustong magturo b’coz gusto ko pero ganun na nga hirap sa income. Ngayon naiisip ko kung tama ba yung desisyon ko na nag-aral ng education units at nakapasa sa LET, kasi ngayon sa kakapili ng trabaho…teach ESL kaya? accounting job ba? sa SSS kaya?(Sige SuroySuroy in bisaya which means laging naglalakwatsa in Tagalog)o di kaya PNB? (Palaging Nasa Bahay) kaya eto di na ako nahire …kawawang beauty ko, walang datung. huhuhu! Baka blessing in disguise to kasi naisip kong subukan ang pagnenegosyo.

Meaning, what you guys are saying is that, if you move the box at pataubin, what you’ll find is that - there ain’t gonna be any smartest at ang galing galing na titser like me (yeeehhhaa) who’d be in the academe para maturuan ang ating mga bata and it’s not fair di ba? Eh pano na tayo? Do we have to punish our kids just because?
Ang hirap nang choices. I mean, I have no interest in becoming Mother Theresa. Banal na ako and I have doz cuzins who are priests kaya meron na akong hotline ki god.
Kelangan ko lang op kors nang anda! Maraming andaaa!! On the other hand, ayoko namang maging teroristang hinoholdap ang ating hope of the lands of l’exotique in the turd world na nangangailangan nang mga titsers. I mean, where do you fix this and what needs to be fixed?
Binasa ko blog ni Bea as in marathon and I found out na si Bea pala is isang abang ulirang titser.
Anyone can tell me kung magkano nga ba ang mga sweldo nang titsers dyan sa Pinas?

da salary in public skol is just around the start of the 5 digits. ESL nga dito sobrang nipis karamihan but meron din naman mga around 5 digits na. Some private schools bigay malaki but only few of them ganun. Sa Cebu lang to, kc andito ako. Tama ka, it’s a dream that could turn into reality if we pursue it. Thanks for the words, na-inspire ako.
Baka magiging best teacher din ako one day, and could help the dreamers - katulad din natin. Dreams are there for us to reach.

Instructor sa De La Salle University (one of the highest paying schools) yung dati kong classmate - full time. May master’s degree at labinlimang taon na ring nagpapakamartir sa pagtuturo. 20 thou +++ pesosesoses daw…CHARING! EH, ZHOKHET KAKO HANGGANG NGAYON BED SPACER PA RIN ANG BYUTI MO SAKA WA KA PA RIN CHEDENG??? NAMURA AKO… BRUHANG YON! HEHEHEHE, IN THE END INAMIN NYA GROSS MONTHLY INCOME YUN - SAKA MONDAY TO SATURDAY work nya, KAYA NYO YOOONNNN??? . Around ten thousand pesosesoses naman sa mga beginner sa public schools… After ten years in service, maaring tumaas ng up to 13 or even 15 thou… mahirap ma promote lalo’t walang “item” na available. Pero kahit may item pa na available kung wa nila feel mag promote, wala rin - the name of the game in public school teaching is ASS KISSING!!
