Problemang National Bank!

I can’t help but write my frustration with banking in the Philippines, especially with PNB, yeap, DA Philippine National Bank.
Maybe you, my dear readers can help Reyna find a better bank to help me manage my millions of sentimos, because I am just about ready to jump off the window kasi I have no clue whatsoever about my banking transactions, except for the friendly help I get from my bank manager friend. But I do not want her to manage my financial transactions since they are mine but given this situation, eh ano pa nga ba ang magagawa nang Reyna kundi to depend on her?
But isn’t this ridiculous? We are now in a hi-tech, online chuva and banking in the Philippines is still mega 100 centuries behind everyone one else. We trumphet our super technical IT abilities in the world yet, our banking sector is unbelievably ancient! We send billions of dollars to this country yet it looks like we have to go 20 centuries back, pudpurin yong kawayan at gawing alkansya!
I bank with the Philippine National Bank. Yeap. I have been their super duper, ever-ever loyalisting bangkista royal ever since I stepped into the snowy lands of Pennsylvania. It’s ridiculously difficult to bank with them!!!
They have a bank in New York - 5th Avenue. Call their number on the remittance department at talagang magkakaron ka nang alzheimer’s sa kakahintay nang kung sinong impaktong dapat sumagot nang phone.
I send my money to them - money order - for deposit to my accounts in Manila. Had no problem, except they are beginning to be expensive compared to the ones sprouting online. But that’s not my problem.
My problem is that, I have checks that clears in my checking account in the Philipines and I wanted to be able to manage my banking transactions well. AND I CAN’T because:
-
I don’t get my bank statements
-
I don’t get my banking transactions online
-
and I am in Philadelphia whereas my accounts are in Manila!
You don’t have to be an MBA to solve this one, right? Well, PNB decided to go online siguro mga two years ago. I was really, really happy. Finally, PNB is coming of age. Ang tagal nang pagdadalaga nang PNB. For a few weeks, I am able to get my transactions, kaso they have listed my accounts triple times! When I asked that it be corrected, they probably responded several months! Worst, nagloko daw ang server, nawala ang password ko, and then I did not hear from them anymore. No one ever dared answered my wailing emails.
Stupidly enough, I am still their customer. And the only reason why I am doing this is because my friend is a bank manager in one of their location. But friend or no friend, I should have listened to my South Korean friend. BUSINESS IS BUSINESS.
How can PNB make Reyna happy?
-
Fix your @#$%^&*(ERTYU)_^&*()_+ online banking system so that we are able to bank and manage our financial transactions while we are overseas working and sending money back home.
-
Mail our bank statements regularly else, send it by email encrypted. Sobra namang you cant’ do this? You can hire the best IT brains in the country! For god’s sake!
-
Get a god-damn good customer service or give it to the local calling centers para sila na lang ang maghandle because calling your customer service is like calling the elves in the north pole! Helu? Eni-one der?!
What kind of bank does Reyna wants?
-
An honest to goodness OFW-friendly bank. Besides, aren’t we sending over $10 billion to the Philippines on an average every year? Aba? Kunting kalinga naman! Mga hudas kayo!!! Mga walang utang na loob! We are giving you business!!!
-
An online banking system that enables us to bank from where we are overseas and manage our financial transactions in the Philippines.
-
A professional and a true human being who will answer the phone, talk to us, help us with our needs instead of putting us on hold for five years and transferring our calls to Fiji Islands.
-
If you maintain a CONTACT US BY EMAIL, then damn it! Answer the darn email we sent you! Else, why put the page in the first place?
Isn’t the Philippines supposed to be one of the hi-tech countries in the world? What’s going on?
Tulong mga kapuso, can you recommend a good bank in the Philippines for me?

I would say BPI…you can manage your account online.

Dear Reyna Elena,
Madam butterfly musta na? Hapi new year!Sally here!
Applause!!!!!! Take a bow, my dear! U earned it!!!
Ngayon lang nagkatime for browsing and just got the Tori and research requirement of the other guy, as usual di pa rin marunong mag-comment dun sa site mo. I’ve been busy renovating the house of my father, it took ages to finish and finally it’s over now, feel ko during the time i was checking on it, sementado na ako.
I suggest u open an account with Banco De Oro or Bank of the Philippine Islands, these are my banks here, mahal ang mga charges but then, you can transact by enrolling yourself sa online programs nila, and u get to check your account online, aside from they have a listing of all banks they are affiliated in USA, (kwento ko lang ha, my sister who is in Canada pla, yung Bank nya Nova Scotia, na affiliated ng BPI, may hiningi na Acct Name, Acct No., Bank Address, and SWIFT no or code ba yun, voila, the money is in my account the following day). U mite want to check http://www.bdo.com.ph and http://www.bpiexpressonline.com, although as u said, di pa rin ganun ka-hitech ang banking system dito sa Pinas. When you get to visit Pinas this year, try to go to the nearest BDO or BPI dyan sa may ortigas, m sure madami dyan. I’ll suggest sana Metrobank, kaso di ko pa lam how they are really on taking care of their customers at saka minsan when I deposit money for some suppliers or friends, ang tagal or mabagal din.
But I would prefer if ul find out more on BDO, they are getting bigger with their mergers and low rates ang mga initial deposits sa kanila, they’re very aggressive pa in their marketing just like BPI. For u na may checking requirements, ang deposit is abt 15k Php, may passbook, ATM and check book na yun, just don’t know if you need the passbook and not baka mas lower sa stated amount ko. And I get to use the BDO ATM for cashless shopping pa sa SM nga lang, di ko pa na-try dun sa ibang outlets, boutiques or store, i’ll find out for you. Sa BPI naman, yung ATM with checking acct, i’ve deposited 25k, mas mahal di ba? But u can afford all these, m sure. As u keep on saying, let’s all be careful especially if it’s our money we are putting in investments or banks.
Til here madame Reyna Elena, il try hard to learn to comment dun sa site, promise ko yan, now that m back in front of my computer!
Wishing you blessed and peaceful new year!
Sally

BDO din po ang gamit ko na bank, kasi para sa kin mas accessible dahil merong branch sa lahat ng SM malls, and convenient pa pag may deposit for me from US kasi i can withdraw it without any hassles…
