Php50=$1 and its effect sa OFW

by Rainier on March 25, 2006

Ganito yon. Consider this time frame.

Say $300 x Php56 = Php16, 800.00

Fast-forward ngayon, exchange rate, $1=Php50. Sinong me advantage? Yong mga businesses doon satin, why? Kakayod lang sila nang Php50, me $1 na sila. Ngayon, if you are here in the US sending the same $300 x $50 = Php15,000.

Say you bought a house in Manila na dating $600 and binabayad mo. You pay in pesos not in dollars. Ngayon? Hindi na $600 yan! I bet you, you are paying more!

Kaso ang problema nitong “the peso is rising” does not mean na our economy is really doing good. Kasi and rise nang peso is NOT due to the fact na lumalakas daw ang exports natin at komokonti and imports. Hindi eh. The reason why the peso is rising, kasi, sangkatutak na ang Pinoy sa boung mundo at kung magpadala nang dollar eh tone-tonelada! What does this mean? Sabi nila it’s a fake strengthening nang peso kasi it’s not based on the true fundamentals nang pagtaas nang economy.

Look at China. O, eh di tienes million dollar exports and China and they have been doing this despite na kaiiyak nang Estados Unidos. Ewan. Baka magic!

Tama yong sinasabi nong Economic Planner pati na Professor sa University of the Asia-Pacific.

Pero eto, me advantage at dis-advantage and rising peso. Titingnan lang nila kung fake ba to or this is because galling sa good business fundamentals and reason.

O ayan.

Disclaimer: Etong mga haka-hakang to eh based dun sa research na ginawa nang aking mga dwende. Wag pong iisipin at mamasamain nang todo at baka mabaliw kayo, hane?
